Alison Savage

Sometimes it only takes one garden to change the course of your life. For me, it was a Sunday afternoon visit to the beautiful Sussex Prairie Garden. Walking through its naturalistic planting and immersive landscapes, I realised I wanted to create spaces that could inspire and delight others in the same way.

That moment led me to leave a long and rewarding career in publishing and retrain as a garden designer. I began with a Diploma in Garden Design at the English Gardening School, followed by a BA (Hons) in Garden Design from the University of Greenwich. Keen to deepen my understanding of the stories and traditions that shape our landscapes, I went on to complete a Master's degree in Landscape and Garden History at the School of Advanced Study, University of London.

Today, I combine creativity with a love of plants, history and a strong sense of place to design gardens that feel natural, timeless and deeply connected to the people who use them. I believe the best gardens are those that evolve gracefully over time, bringing beauty, enjoyment and a sense of belonging throughout the seasons.
